AuDHD is the term used to describe the combined conditions when a person lives with both Autism and ADHD, both of which are genetic life-long neuro-developmental differences, and each one recognised in law as a disability in the UK.
A person living with AuDHD typically has traits and characteristics of both conditions, but with varying degrees, and this complex combination understandably creates day-to-day challenges and frustrations because one seems to be at odds with the other. But with the right support and guidance, a person living with AuDHD can harness the gifts of both conditions to flourish and thrive in life.
Rise As We Are offers services to support, guide, educate and encourage people living with AuDHD. We appreciate that a balanced and holistic approach is required that recognises the anxieties of the Autistic traits with the compulsions of the ADHD behaviours.
No matter where you are in your AuDHD journey, our support service is designed around your particular needs and aspirations, and the way your brain is uniquely wired. Whether you want to focus on the calm, reassuring guidance you get from mentoring for your Autism, or you need a gentle form of coaching to overcome your ADHD challenges, we'll tackle the things that matter to you and work in a way that works for you. And as you develop, our support will develop with you.
You don’t need to have a formal diagnosis for either Autism or ADHD to benefit from our AuDHD support services. We’re here to help and assist you whatever your situation and age.
This is 1-to-1 support that is personal to you, and focusses on your unique AuDHD.
It doesn’t matter what you need assistance with. Perhaps you want to figure out who you are with your combined Autism and ADHD? Maybe you need support and guidance with your day-to-day challenges, or with trying to manage your home or work/school life (or both)? Or find relationships with family, friends or colleagues difficult or confusing? Or maybe life is just getting way too overwhelming?
We’re not going to judge you and we're not going to tell you how to live your life. Instead, we’re here to support you step-by-step from where you are now to where you ideally want to be. And we make it as simple and accessible as we can to give you every opportunity to thrive.

Let’s start with understanding who you are and what your goals are. And let's do it in a calm, relaxed and informal way. Do you want to focus on your Autism or your ADHD? Or maybe both?

This is where you build awareness and acceptance of what your AuDHD is, and gently develop a mindset to embrace it and manage it. When you finally understand yourself, your outlook totally changes for the better.

A gentle step-by-step process designed around your particular challenges with regular sessions that focus on setting and achieving small goals, developing positive habits, thoughts and behaviours, and utilising tools and strategies.

On-going monitoring of the results of your efforts, and tweaking things as we go until you feel completely comfortable with who you are and feel more confident in your abilities to thrive as you are.
This isn’t like counselling or therapy. Having an AuDHD Mentor and Coach is like having a trusted team behind you, building your confidence as you learn more about yourself, and giving you perspective and real practical solutions for you to adopt that work for the way your brain is wired.
And it's even more beneficial when that team is passionate about what they do and neurodivergent themselves, and they understand and appreciate the complexities of AuDHD because they too live with it day-to-day.
We can also offer support and advice with getting and dealing with an Autism and ADHD diagnosis, and working with schools and employers to achieve reasonable adjustments for your recognised disabilities.
