ADHD, or Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, is a genetic life-long neuro-developmental difference recognised in law as a disability in the UK.
At its core, ADHD is the result of a defect in the dopamine system in the brain. But it produces a wide range of different symptoms which can impact on a person’s executive functioning, thought processing, emotions and physical behaviours. These symptoms can vary depending on a person’s gender, age and life experiences.
People with ADHD live day-to-day with their symptoms, and they usually face challenges in their lifestyle, school/work, relationships and behaviours. But ADHD does bring its own benefits too, gifting people with unique talents that, if embraced and encouraged, can be potentially rewarding to themselves and the people around them.
Rise As We Are offers services to support, guide, educate and encourage people living with ADHD. This is usually provided in the form of coaching sessions, but also includes an element of mentoring. Our sessions are focussed around your individual needs and goals, and are thoughtfully designed to work with how your brain is wired - we harness your ADHD gifts to overcome your ADHD challenges.
You don’t need to have a formal diagnosis to benefit from our ADHD support services. We recognise that people can have ADHD whether or not they have a piece of paper to prove it, and we’re here to help and assist you no matter what your situation and age.
It doesn’t matter what you need assistance with - whether you’re struggling with time management, struggling to manage your home or work life (or both!), stuck in a rut, having difficulties with relationships or lifestyle choices, struggling to turn your lofty ambitions into reality, or totally overwhelmed by life in general!
We’re not here to judge and criticise - you probably get enough of that from yourself and the people around you! Instead, we’re here to take you step-by-step from where you are now to where you ideally want to be. And we make it as simple and accessible as we can to give you every opportunity to thrive.

Let’s start with understanding who you are and what your goals are. Working from the foundations upwards often has a wider reaching positive impact to your overall life, and achieves better outcomes in the longterm.

A step-by-step process designed around your particular needs with regular sessions that focus on setting and achieving small goals and developing positive habits, thoughts and behaviours to overcome (or manage) your challenges.

Building awareness and acceptance of what ADHD is, and developing a mindset to embrace it, manage it, improve it and utilise it. This is where you take control of your ADHD rather than letting it take control of you.

On-going monitoring of the results of your efforts, and tweaking things as we go until you’re equipped and skilled and ready to flourish as the better version of your ADHD self.

Dylan MacMillan, ADHD Specialist & Coach
Having an ADHD Coach is like having a trusted friend that can guide you, give you perspective and suggest real practical and creative solutions when you feel like you’re stuck and in need of a helping hand.
If it seems like everybody else is fighting against you or is giving you advice that simply doesn’t work for the way your brain is wired, or you're trying your best to make improvements but never quite achieving them, it’s crucial to have somebody you can reach out to who is on your side. And even better if that person has ADHD themselves and knows it inside out, has lots of varied life experience to share and can be your launchpad to greater things.
We can also offer support and advice with getting an ADHD assessment and diagnosis, dealing with your ADHD diagnosis, your ADHD medication options and alternatives, and working with schools and employers to achieve reasonable adjustments for your recognised disability.
Our coaching and mentoring sessions typically last one hour and are held on Zoom video calls, usually once a week to begin with. We can schedule appointments during the day, evenings and weekends, making it flexible enough for you to fit your session in around the five million other things you’ve got going on in your life. We operate a strict code of conduct concerning your confidentiality in line with other UK health service providers.
If our ADHD support service sounds like the transformative project you’re looking to get excited about for yourself or for a loved-one, please reach out to us and we can talk about what your needs are and how we can help.

We also run a series of online workshops and have videos and resources which cover a wide variety of topics to educate and guide you on your ADHD journey. Click the link for more details:
